License Plates

So today was the day my truck lost it's identity. I finally got Ohio plates. It was very weird to switch out these plates. I think driving around with Arizona plates made me feel like I was still partly in Arizona. Or at least I still had some connection to it. But once I put those Ohio plates on, it was all gone.

I do have to say one nice thing about the whole plate thing though is how cheap it is. For those of you in Arizona, you know how expensive it can be to buy the tags for your car. In Ohio it's a flat fee. I paid about $45 for my plates. On the flip side of that however, the state of Ohio charges sales tax on private party vehicle transactions. In Arizona, they don't. So I guess maybe in the end it's all a wash. I don't know.

Other than that, things are good. The weather is starting to change and I'm excited to try to get out and take some pictures once the leaves change a bit more. We did get a few remnants of Ike last night in the form of a massive windstorm that blew down trees, ripped out windows and left a ton of people without power. Carli's school got canceled today because of roof damage to her school. Many people at my office are being told they will be without power for days. We lost power for a little while but not too long. Kinda crazy! In the middle of it all, I was out front flying a kite. The neighbors came outside and told me I was crazy. So now I'm sure we're the talk of the neighborhood. I think Jen took some pictures of it so look for it on her blog soon.
